The more Jag spoke, the more Jaina was reminded of her Jag. Caught up in missing him more than she'd realized before their son's arrival, she almost missed the tale he was telling concerning how, exactly, Amelia had finally agreed to take the Hapan throne.
By the time he'd finished, however, she almost wished she'd ignored him. She could see her parents getting involved, of course, so that was easy enough to envision. She could also see Tenel Ka feeling she had no choice but to call upon the people who had raised her daughter, to make the girl see reason. But then the last part came and, well, with it finally sank in, Jaina's brain abruptly came to a screeching halt.
"... Empress?" she echoed, brown eyes widening to almost comical proportions. "Did you just say I was an Empress? Who in the kriff thought giving me a title like that was a good idea?"
She thought, belatedly, that he might have mentioned it before, but it just now was registering... and she had no idea how to handle it in the slightest.
