Ryan was surprised that the Apocalypse had not followed through to its logical end. It would seem that the world just wasn't meant to end at the moment. He briefly wondered if Damien had any part in that, considering what he was. He hoped he would not have to run into the Antichrist anytime soon, not if he could help it. He remembered that feeling the Beast gave him when he interrupted that meeting with Joe. It was not a good feeling.
But the chaos was interesting while it lasted. He had played the innocent victim, the role of a lost boy on the streets. Most had fallen for it. And when some poor fool had not suspecting anything, sure enough, a demon came by to take advantage. They usually recognized Ryan as an ally. But then he would stab them in the back with his knife once they had turned back around.
And this had given him a few powers out of the ordeal. It wasn't anything too impressive. Just the ability to remember anything he read (and understand it). Too bad he wasn't much of a reader. He could also change an object into something else. Oh yeah, and there was telekinesis, great for getting a remote easily instead of walking across the room to get it. That would be handy. He'd have to steal more powers. The problem was finding the demons, as it seemed vampires were the more visible class at night.
So he stood on a street corner. He figured it was a good place as any to get some practice, especially in a seedy part of this town that few would care about. When a prostitute would would by, he would make a hand gesture. It took some time, but eventually he could, with a flick of the wrist, make a skirt suddenly fly up. They just thought it was the wind. Some would find it amusing if they knew the truth. Or possibly deviant. Maybe both. So for now, he settled for moving scattered cans, bottles, or miscellaneous paper trash that littered the street..
