Hermione couldn't help but lean into the slight embrace, returning it gently. Yes she knew, she was the one who he seemed to argue with most. But that just confused her more. It made it so difficult for her to see if her feelings were being wasted on someone who would never return them, and she didn't want to spend her whole life waiting for him. Even if there was a tip off from the future, that didn't mean anything. The future could easily change.
She allowed Ginny to steer her in, glancing quickly around the small shop to try and spot any seating. She looked at Ginny when she mentioned talking to Ron, waiting to hear exactly what was going on in his mind.
"And I'm not? I usually have a grasp of every situation, can think through what to do. But right now, I have no clue. And it scares me. I don't like not knowing how to handle it because I'll get caught off guard far more easily."
