A small smile sneaked its way upon his face, in spite of the situation. Back in his version of LA, he realized he wouldn't have been able to come close to this kind of relationship with someone because of how busy he was all of the time, or because the press would find out and all of his fans would hate the girl and it hit him that coming here, even though it wasn't the greatest thing that could have possibly happened to him, it was close to it. He finally got the chance to experience something real at the pace he wanted to go at, not something that would barely last because of distance and awkward conversations. They wrote songs about that kind of stuff.
"Thank you," he murmured softly as he laced his fingers with Alex's and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "I was supposed to finish that song a while ago except.." Nick trailed off, preferring not to bring it up. He was feeling a lot of things right then, but that wasn't one of moments he wanted to remember and remind her of.
Nick was watching her carefully out of the corner of his eye as he stared down at their hands intertwined, and he noticed the tears rolling down her cheeks before she managed to wipe them away. He was usually attentive to every little thing Alex did, and it wasn't an exception then. He held all of the emotions he was feeling inside of him because to be honest, he hated crying. Just because he cried on stage one or.. one hundred times, didn't mean he liked it. It was one of those things he never let himself do. Nick leaned down slightly, kissing each of her cheeks gently, his lips lingering with each kiss until he pulled away. "Don't cry, sugar."
