Why did he have to look at her like that? No, it wasn't a sad moment, not at all, but it was still overwhelming. Alex could feel her own emotions inside of her, and when Nick looked at her the way he had, she could see his own emotions just as clearly. It was a pretty powerful moment, to say the least, and Alex would be lying if she said she had been expecting it. Then again, she hadn't really expected to die like she had, either. Or to come back to life afterwards.
"I really do," she told him, easing an arm around his waist and holding him close up to her side. "I never heard a song that I liked better. It's my favorite, ever." And she meant it.
His next words caused even more emotion to well up inside of her, and the tears that had formed a few moments ago managed to slip down her cheeks. She reached up with her free hand and wiped them away quickly. "I know," she said tightly, nodding. "I mean, I...I feel the same way. I love you, too."
