To say that he felt happy wouldn't have been a lie, but it also wasn't the full truth. He was a mixed bag. He still felt like he was stuck inbetween, his tiger spirit was off balance and drained alot of energy.
It was almost painfully obvious how torn up he was about things when RJ came to sit down. For the longest time he didn't say anything at all, what did he say after coming back from the dead? How's it going, didn't exactly seem appropriate.
