His eyes widened as he nodded solemnly, hands in is lap.
"I... if they're here then, then this is where I belong. I'm supposed to fight them."
He was being ridiculously cryptic, but he didn't have much of a choice. The second he spoke that name... all hell could break loose. Quite literally, as a matter of fact.
"My birthright is to lead mankind against the machines. If I tell you my name... they'll find me before I'm capable."
The words just tumbled out of him, like some sort of... fountain. He blushed, hating that he couldn't control his own actions better. But he was distraught and this woman was like... a nicer version of his mother. It was unnerving and yet made him feel at home, all at once.
"My friend. She's one of them... but I reprogrammed her... well, not me. It's a time-travel thing... anyway. I reprogrammed her to help me, like.. it's not important."
Taking a deep sigh, he looked up at the investigator to try to glean how much of that she had actually understood.
"The short answer is, yes, I'm fine to stay here if you'll have me."
