Peter was still smiling at the mental images (carefully guarded, it wouldn't do to have him ruin Nathan's surprise) when he skipped the dozing stage, going right to sleep against Heidi's shoulder.
It was only about six minutes later that Peter jerked his head back up, blinking hard. "Not again," was all he had the time to mutter before he was cringing again, trying to slam down his emotional shields against the fresh wave of pain and death.
