The sudden change in scenery made her blink. The fact her husband and brother had superpowers itself was one thing to adjust to, and bearing witness to them was another entirely apart. Telekenesis and the other casual abilities--dubbed so because they were the ones Peter most frequently used--had come more or less under her special-case, LA-specific definition of 'Normal', when combined with, 'A Bit of Creative Belief Suspension' and a strong cup of coffee within the first hour of the morning.
She allowed herself to be lead and settled onto the bench, one arm automatically dropped around Peter, allowing his head to rest on her shoulder while she pulled him snug against her. Unwilling to let her troubles leak over into Peter's own, empathically-emphasized ones, as much melancholy as she could manage was pushed from the steady, dislodgeable-only-by-very-large-Earthquakes-and-tickets-to-the-Trans-Siberian-Orchestra-and-choice-ventriloquists calm. It was difficult seeing the world in the state it was, and watching it weigh Peter down didn't do much to better circumstances.
The comfortable quiet stayed in place, Heidi knowing the value of a well-needed silence, and Peter probably in need of one. No demands, and no fears beyond the reasonable and internally manageable ones, just an older sister rubbing her little brother's arm to keep him from getting chilly on a cool evening; silently telling him it would all be alright.
