When she thought of death, she didn't think it would be like this. Where was the pain, where was what came next? Why didn't she feel like she was dying? Her eyes closed to the world on Los Angeles, and when she opened them again, she was standing on a familiar comet, alive, and very much aware. She looked down at herself, expecting to see some sign of her fight, but there was nothing.
She had died in that world, and ended up here, in the world she was charged with looking after. She was alive, that she could be happy for. But sorrow washed over her when she realized what that meant. Clark, Diana, Bart, she'd never seen them again. Kira, Oliver, they were all alive, and in a different world. One that wasn't for her anymore. She was leaving Clark on his own to fight the Phantom and Prime. She was leaving him alone again. "I'm sorry, Kal-El."
She bit her lip, raising her head to look down to the planet that was Neo Krypton. Why hadn't she told Clark about this place? At least then he'd know she was still alive and safe somewhere. Kara knew she'd end up here when she died, but while she was fighting Famine, the idea had escaped her for a while. Her life hadn't been important. It was the lives of everyone who called Earth home. That was what mattered. Stopping the Horsemen was the important thing. She had failed, but hopefully others would succeed.
Kara's attention shifted fully to the world. Every person, death, wish, experience, she knew it all, and she listened. She also knew that somewhere else, Elaine heard them too. She also heard Kara. "I hope your succeeding at what you needed to go and do, Elaine." she said softly, knowing the other woman could hear her, wherever she was. "Because it has to stop." What Elaine was doing, Kara wasn't sure. She didn't even know if it had to do with what was happening in Los Angeles. But this was biblical, so Elaine had to have some power over it, right? Or course she did, she had power over everything. It was a matter if she could use that power.
Drawing herself up straight, she looked to the planet again. She had a new life now, and one that was important. Kara moved away from the comet, her shape growing as she made herself visible to the people of the planet. She was here, and she was listening, and she made sure they knew that.
