A faint smile crossed her lips and she shook her head. "No, if they were here, it'd be better. Sarah would have twice the protection that you or I can offer her. Because they will not let anything happen to her. No matter what, she's theirs and they're hers. She'll kill for them, she'll die for them. And they'd do the same for her. If Dominique succeeded in killing Sarah, Nikolas and Kristopher would go after her without a thought to their own lives."
After a moment or two, Caryn took another sip of her tea and watched him, considering a few things. "You know...I can probably work on something to help you control your need to drink blood. It wouldn't make you weaker, and it wouldn't make you stronger, but it could be used to control that need. And I maybe able to fashion a spell that will enable you to go out in the sunlight. I'll have to check the books I've brought with me, but I think I could work something out. The blood I can definitely do, but the sunlight will take a little time." And it might take more energy than she had to offer, but she supposed she could try it. "I'd rather test it out with someone who wasn't you at first, because I don't want to cause you to go up in flames. Or at least, if we try it out with you first, we start slowly. Maybe have someone open the drapes, and then shut them quickly if you start to smoke a little bit."
She was honestly considering this, after a moment's hesitation. "Hold on...I'll be right back." She headed upstairs to grab two or three of the books from the room she shared with Sarah for the time being, until she had the nerve to ask for her own room and then came down with them. She set two down on the table and flipped through the one in her hand, scanning it. "There we are...this will be a permanant fix, you understand that right? It'll ease up your need for blood, you'll not need feedings as often. Perhaps once every three or four days.."
