Clothes. Of course. She had meant to take her gym stuff with her today but ran out of her room without it, not like it would have done John any good. She may be tall but the girl was practially skin and bones, there's no way anything she wore would fit John. She let her eyes dart around the street and then finally settled on a small thrift store tucked in between a hair salon and a organic food store.
She nodded to an alleyway a few feet from them and walked towards it. Dawn pulled her wallet out of her bag and handed it to John, at least he could sheild the world from his more sensitive areas. "I'll go run over to that thrift store and grab you something, okay? Wait here."
She smiled warmly at the boy and then ran across the street towards the store. Quickly she picked out a pair of jeans that looked like they would fit him and a black tee shirt. A few minutes later she returned back to the alley and handed John the plastic bag with the clothes.
"The jeans might be big, I wasn't quite sure what size you needed."
