She knew when it her hand it, the feel of claw on flesh wasn't unfamiliar to her, though usually when she fought someone, she knew what she was up against, and if she didn't stand a chance alone, she had back up. What she wouldn't give to have Savannah, or Adam, or the rest of the pack here. She could feel the blood on her fingers, and she took some satisfaction in knowing she'd at least drawn blood.
"Didn't hurt en-" he had vanished and reappeared too fast. An exploding pain shot through her skull, causing her vision to blur, and go black in spots. She stumbled, falling backwards. Kate wasn't sure if she was falling, she never had the sensation of it, but suddenly she felt the ground under her hands, or what she thought was the ground. A soft gasp escaped her lips as she tried to focus her mind. But the only thing she could focus on was the pain in her head, and the warm, wet feeling that was moving down her skull. She didn't even know the difference between up and down, or have a vague idea of where the bastard who had just hit her was.
Eyes closed, she groaned, moving her head in attempt to lift it, and herself off the ground.
