She didn't like the smile. A fight was one thing. Having to kill someone was one thing. Killing for fun, and smiling while doing it was just disturbing. It was people like this guy that the council at home worked to keep under control, or eliminate. "Like every other night." she said flatly, because lately every night had been a nightmare.
Her eyes flicked to his hand in his pocket. She didn't know if he had anything, but a psychos hand in a pocket coming toward probably wasn't good. His words just confirmed it. "There are monsters everywhere." she said calmly. "It would just be my luck to run into one tonight." there was a hint of a growl in her voice. Kate bent her arms in front her, taking another step back.
Pain shot through her hands as they twisted and formed into claws that were half way between a humans hand and a wolf paw. Kate was her own weapon, and she was quite good at using them. Positioned in a defensive stance, she did he best to make sure a good space staid between two of them. If it was a gun, it didn't matter, she'd need to do more than step back. Put if it was a sharp object, distance was best until she knew for sure how to work around it.
