Casey had been as well. Zoning, but not for the same reason. The pain was hardly bearable. But he'd endure it if it meant protecting others. Stopping these pointless deaths and doing what rangers did best. Helping people. Right about now he was probably the youngest ranger on the team, fresh meat. Even RJ had experience with Pai Zhau. Casey had barely been there ten days before his Master Mao picked him in another students place to be a protector. He was still learning what it meant to be on a team, figuring out his place while he wasn't a hundred percent was even harder. But he wasn't about to give up.
Even Casey still hadn't met Jack. It didn't seem the guy was much for team work. Or team bonding. But he supposed he didn't blame him, the red had been pretty torn up about that girl Faith. If it was one of his close friends who'd been shot he would be reacting the same way he'd assumed. But he'd never known anyone who died except Master Mao. He didn't exactly die die. He just sort of faded away and reappeared sometimes in his dreams and daydreams. "I'm fine, stop worrying about me..RJ does that enough." He gave her an attempted convincing grin and shrugged. "I've been resting so I'll be fine. Just like I told RJ."
"I'm Casey. No..I've been under house arrest." If she looked hard enough she could practically feel the quotes in his words. " I haven't really met anyone yet. Mack either." He almost sulked a little. He was dressed in red and black, at least the new kids kept up with their out of ranger color coding. RJ was responsible for that one mostly though. "So you were like..the very first. Right?" He grinned and looked at her in awe. He never imagined he'd be standing next to the ranger who started it all.
