Absently, Sable brushed his fingertips on the voluminous manuscript. His actions halted and he reclined on his seat and shook his head.
“I am a man of science and faith,” he explained, holding two hands together as if they were scales balancing on two opposite sites. “Too much weight on one side creates trouble. There’s always the need to balance both extremes.”
He shrugged modestly. “I’m a just doctor, but my diagnosis is that this looks like a terminal case.”
