Letting Romana see what had happened to their home of course meant practically re-living the memories he'd kept back for so long; at once it was a heart-breaking, all-consuming sorrow, but at the same time he couldn't help but feel a slight relief. Finally he didn't have to bear this burden alone, and no matter how selfish that sounded, he knew that Romana was the one person who would be willing to share it with him.
He gave a sob as she broke the connection, and wrapped his arms around her in return, dipping his head so that he was practically buried in her hair, trying his best not to soak her in tears.
