“You just did.” Brennan grinned slightly, “but I won’t tell anyone.” She promised with a nod of the head, “I like having him around too. I hate psychology but he does help when he’s not doing experiments on us.”
She didn’t voice her annoyance at the joke she hadn’t picked up on but her expression was enough to do that for her, she had genuinely been worried she had said the wrong thing. “But sometimes the truth isn’t always better, I learnt that from you.” Brennan returned the smile, “I’m just not used to seeing this happen to someone..” She trailed off with a sigh. “See, you have to get better. I need a teacher. I'll be right back, I just need to get that water for you," she continued on her journey out the door, glancing over her shoulder quickly. She didn't want to leave him on his own for too long just in case.
