Nick threw an exasperated, yet apologetic look at his brother. It wasn't his fault he was so anxious, he just wanted the ambulance to hurry up and get there so they could get Alex the medical help she needed and deserved. He was bound to flip out slightly if they took over five minutes to get there. It was just the way he was. His head kept whipping up to the door every minute or so, only to look back down to give Alex words of reassurance to help her feel better.
In his mind, she was going to be fine, she had to be fine. Despite his family being there, and all that had happened this place wouldn't be worth living in if she wasn't going to be fine. He didn't let her see or know that, though. Several minutes later he heard a vehicle pull up at the house, and a knock at the door. Giving one last glance at Alex before he went to answer it, he stood and ran to open it for what he hoped to be the paramedics, and not just Kevin. Not that he had anything against Kevin, but right now all he cared about was the hospital. They came rushing in with a stretcher, and why they rushed, Nick wanted to know. It only made him even more anxious over the whole situation. He supposed, though, if they were calm he would have punched both of them and told them to get a move on because there was something seriously wrong with his girlfriend.
He watched as they carefully moved her from the stretcher to the bed, asking her questions to try and keep her awake. Nick was glad they weren't asking him anything, because if he tried to speak he'd probably either go off at someone or fail to find any words. Soon enough, but not soon enough for the young Jonas boy, they had her on the stretcher and were bringing her out to the ambulance in the drive way and Nick was following in a daze. They were asking him questions as well, but was he listening? Not a chance. He turned to his brother who had followed them out and rubbed his hand over his forehead. "I'll ride with her in the ambulance," he said as more of a statement than anything else. "Can you please tell Elisabeth and Kevin where we're going? And.. and follow us?" Even when he was in a panic, he still remembered his manners, and as he got into the ambulance he turned back to his brother before they closed the doors. "And Joe? Don't drive." he ordered, a slight hint of humour in his voice.
