“Sure, all right,” the girl responded, balancing on her feet and clasped hands behind her back while she waited. She did not understand why people needed to look presentable in front of someone blind, but perhaps it was out of habit. Cordelia could have been wearing a Bunny Suit and Elaine would have not noticed any difference.
When Cordelia opened the door, Elaine smiled. “Hullo, Cordelia,” she said, then lifted her chin, not peering exactly over the woman’s shoulder but sensing her roommate’s presence. “You too, Dennis.” Her smile was slightly crooked at the teasing as her shoulders shrugged. “Well, I don’t know. Would that make any difference where I tell you?”
She stepped inside and did not continue until she heard the door closing. “I thought you would be more comfortable if it was in your room. Tell me if I’m near any furniture I could knock down.”
