Snapping wasn't going to phase her. Please, they had plenty of fights over the years, and somehow it was always okay. She didn't have a problem fighting with him, and somewhere in there, he had to know she wasn't going anywhere.
When she saw the tears forming in his eyes, she hugged him fiercely. "It's not anybody's fault. You're just lost." She spoke softly yet firmly, and although Charlie obviously had something to do with this, she wasn't about to go blaming her for it. "Come on, Jack, nobody knows you better than me, and this isn't you. Remember before SPD? You would give someone the shirt off your back. It was never enough, but that didn't stop you. You gave and didn't care if you got anything back." She held onto him, hoping something, anything, was getting through his head.
