"I used to work for his firm," Sarah whispered back before she let go of Cathy. Cathy had always been relatively unaware of the true war going on in the city and as her friend had seemed happy with and continued to want to have as normal a life as possible, Sarah hadn't really gotten around to explaining it all yet.
But that had now changed. There would be a talk in the near future, that was for certain, not to scare Cathy off anything, but so she understood. For now, they could have the 'research party' promised.
"It's good to see you too, Lindsey," she said, flashing the man a smile before she rounded the table and sat again, twining her fingers with Peter's as she grinned at his comment.
"Your 'research assistants' will do just fine, though maybe we should keep an eye on who we're assisting instead," she said with a wink at Cathy, the tone light and apparently joking, as she was positive that Cathy had no idea she'd been asked to come out with Lindsey's 'mortal enemy'.
