"Well, the offer's always gonna be there," she told her, as if to give Faith a little more reassurance on the whole thing. That was definitely something Heather was being honest about.
In response to Faith's own small smile, Heather couldn't help but give one back. It was wan and not all that impressive, but it was better than nothing. "You don't have to do that," she said. "But thanks. That's...kind of what I really wanted to know."
Heather expected that kind of reaction to the story. It was the same way Sam had reacted when she told him. Other than Sam and Faith, no one else knew. Alessa did, but she'd been involved, so of course she would know. "No, it's still there. It can look normal to most people, but if you go there with some serious shit in your head, it turns into this other world and that's when the monsters pop up. It looks all old and delapidated, too. The whole town just shifts, and your emotions are projected onto the environment. What you feel is what you see, really." She nodded, then. "Yeah, it's the same person. The Alessa that's here is the same Alessa from Silent Hill."
After a few moments of silence, she continued. "So then my dad raised me up until a few months ago, and that's when my own past sort of...came back to haunt me. I met this woman named Claudia when I was out at the mall, and she started talking about all this weird stuff I didn't understand. Something about remembering who I used to be. It sounded familiar, like it was something I was supposed to be remembering, but I still had no idea what she was talking about. I started to see the monsters and I got all these headaches... And then when I went home...my dad, he... He was dead. Murdered. No...butchered. There was a blood trail going up to the roof, so I followed it and Claudia was there. She sent one of the monsters to kill my dad, because she wanted to fill my heart with hate. Then, she sent the same monster after me and told me she would be waiting for me in Silent Hill. So I went after her. The only reason I went was to get revenge, but once I got there, it turned into so much more than that. Getting through the town was like a constant fight for my life. I mean, these things were hideous and dangerous, much worse than anything I've even seen here, if you can imagine. But...the more time I spent there, the more I learned. Claudia wanted to try the ritual again. She wanted me to be the one to give birth to a new God, and it was working. This thing just started forming and growing inside of me, and it was getting worse and worse. I didn't know how to stop it, but to make a really long story just a little bit shorter, I found a way and...threw up the fetus. I know, disgusting, it was no picnic for me, either. But then Claudia, she...she ate it. She thought that she could save it and give birth to it herself. It killed her in the process, but it ended up working. So I had to kill this new God, just like my dad did the first time around. And then when it was done, I...went back home, buried my dad, and just took off. I didn't stop driving until I got here."
