That much was certain, although in the short time that had passed since her arrival, Kathy had yet to decide if it was for the better or worse. Everything was different--the clothing, the furniture...the whole world. Thanks to inventions such as 'cars', she had yet to see a horse-drawn carriage. Music and entertainment were no longer live, instead coming from boxes known as 'televisions' and 'radios'. It was all very bizarre.
Which was why Kathy tended to flee to the garden when she began to find herself overwhelmed. Plants and flowers, now those were things she knew.
Luckily, she was a child blessed with the ability to adapt. This place, Los Angeles, would take some getting used to, but she was already finding things that she liked about it. The hotel--the Hyperion--was unlike anything she had every seen before. It was beautiful, and there was so very much of it to explore. There was her brother, and more people that she was growing to like more and more with every passing moment. She had taken to Cordy and Annie, especially.
And, truth be told, she was rather looking forward to this outing. Dressed in a borrowed pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt, Kathy was feeling a little out of place in her own skin. However, she was quickly getting used to it. The material of the trousers, though course at first, allowed for movement, and she already was beginning to prefer them to the fussy gowns she was used to.
At the sound of Cordy's voice, she got to her feet, smiling eagerly up at the older woman. It was unusual--it typically took a lot to open up the shy little girl, but Kathy had felt almost instantly at ease around her brother's friend. Nodding agreeably, she tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ears.
"'Sounds lovely," she stated, excited to the point of babbling. "I imagine there's quite a lot to try. Whatever Liam's told ye, I'm not terribly particular about what I eat. Usually, ‘tleast."
