Lilith turned her head slightly when Valek spoke of their actions. “What happened to you?” she asked worried. “What did they do to you?” She followed his motions without seeing him. The position of his body, the touch over her hair and then the whisper at her ear, in this entire time she remained unperturbed like a statue.
A statue that had to smile and shake her head almost like a mother chiding a child.
“Ah, I think you are mistaking my nature. What I am and what I have become,” she corrected him impassibility, fully facing him. “It’s not from human blood that my kind needs to feed for nourishment. They have nothing to fear from me.” They were everybody’s nightmare, but she had chosen another path to stop the three others. “I deeply regret you feel so jaded when there is so much beauty left in this world, this city even is flooding with it. If you are able to love those who walk with you as kin, there must be something of your human heart left.”
