Caedus' smile lingered for a little bit as he took a good look at his daughter. She threw strongly toward his side of the family, he noted, sporting looks that strongly resembled Jaina. She was strong, determined, headstrong, stubborn....yes, his daughter.
He nodded pleasantly at her. "I asked you to come here because our last conversation ended rather abruptly. I felt that perhaps, now that you're a mature and thoughtful adult, we could talk. I understand that you've spent the majority of your life listening to what other people had to say about me, and that would have strongly influenced your point of view regarding me."
Caedus leaned back, using a simple trick to make and maintain eye contact with his daughter, pressing his strength of will through no more obvious a tool than his eyes. "However, you're a Jedi-in-training. The truths that you hold, and that they hold, are all dependent on a certain point of view. As such, they would have been more than willing to let their feelings color every facet of everything I have done, will do, and all the rest."
Caedus paused, keeping eye contact, as he said, with all the sincerity he had, "I want to tell you the truth."
