Father-daughter outing to Borders.......sorta?
Who: Darth Caedus, Amelia Solo What: A Wary Chat Between Father and Daughter Where: Borders, 10250 Santa Monica Blvd When: 2 PM Rating: TBD Status: Ongoing
It was distinctly strange, sitting on some isolated flyspeck of a world, light years away from...well, anything, a cup of caf (which the locals insisted on calling coffee) in one hand, an actual book, made from actual paper in the other, reading about things that were only stories in his own home galaxy. Although, he had to admit, it made for fascinating and enlightening reading. Every time he delved into one of these books, especially near the Palpatine era, Caedus became more aware that his title of Dark Lord of the Sith was rather hollow without the actual Sith powers these books described. Not that it mattered, really, since now that he knew about them, he could contrive to duplicate them. But that was secondary.
Setting aside the books on his home, he picked up another book on business management. He really didn't need to read this, or so he kept telling himself. Admittedly, he had taken over one of the largest, most profitable, and most powerful companies in the area through judicious use of the Force, Jedi Mind Tricks, and mind rubs, and he had competent managers to handle the day to day affairs, but he knew better than to let underlings have their head. Better a boss who knew what his minions were up to.
Which, again, was only him attempting to distract himself. He'd arranged this meeting with his daughter, in a neutral location, with daylight and people all around. He sighed, glanced at his watch, noted that it was 2:02 pm. She was either late, or watching him. Probably watching him. He didn't bother to reach out with his senses to find her. He could, but he wouldn't. Instead, he looked back into his reading.
