She had made him cry out. Made him hurt and it went some of the way. Some of the way toward stopping the sour feeling that seemed to find its way to her gut when she thought of the traitors amongst her own.
But she was impressed at least with his determination.
"I taught you well then Draco. Taught you all the pretty little ways it can really sting"
"Crucio"
She paced around her nephew for some minutes, like some kind of feral predator, hexing and hurting in every way she knew how, and finally knelt at his side, pausing just when she knew he was too hurt to go for the wand.
"Dear oh dear whatever shall I do with you" she queried stroking his hair suggesting familiarity she of course did not have.
"Could kill you, I mean...it would be doing a service to the Wizarding world wouldn't it, or your boy, will I get him first...could he stand it like you have..."
Bella wasn't sure, the little ones had never known war.
She considered for a long while, eyes darting about as thought after thought, and the occasional stinging hex flew about, and finally, Bellatrix planted a kiss on her nephews forehead and stood.
"Avad..." she said liltingly, but broke into peals of laughter, not completing the curse she had never had any intention of using.
"...No...Not mine to kill y'see, Its not me you need to be sorry for betraying."
She tilted her head. She'd have to leave him sane too.
"Why do people keep calling me that?" she asked "It isn't a very nice thing to say"
