He cradled her limp body carefully in his arms, trying to control the anger that hadn't been sated by ripping the heads of those vile creatures. He wished it could have been slow, he wished he could have fully made them pay for what they had done. But this was not the time for that, there were bigger, more important, things at hand at the moment. "Bella?" He said softly, fingers pressing to the side of her neck that hadn't been so savagely bitten to find a slow pulse. She was alive at least, though he knew that it would be short lived.
Pressing her body carefully to him he sprinted again at his superhuman speed back to the apartment. He didn't have much time. The idea of losing her was hard to ignore but he tried, it would do no good to worry about what could happen. He had to focus on what would happen. He would save her, he had to.
Setting his wife down on the couch in the living room he took a second to once again check her pulse. Edward realized he was out of options. And while this was not the way he had wanted for her, the violence and the pain at the end of her life, it had to be done. He knelt down and sunk his teeth into the other side of her neck, letting his venom flow into the wound. So focused on the only thing that mattered, saving Bella, he barely tasted the blood that had haunted him so. He repeated the action several times on her body, on her chest above her heart, down her arms, anything to get the venom into her blood quicker. Time was his enemy, if the venom didn't take quickly enough.... He sunk back onto his heels, a hand grasped tightly around hers. If he could cry he knew he would be, the fear of losing the only thing that mattered was so great.
