He didn't know why he'd admitted any of those things to her. Sam didn't even know why he'd stuck around on the computer down in the lobby so long in the first place. All he knew was that, in that moment when Heather admitted she was in love with him, Sam let everything go straight out the window.
And then he was moving. Back to the hotel room, where Heather was waiting for him. He pushed the door open and stepped inside, shutting it behind himself before he moved toward the desk where Heather was sitting. She didn't even look at him as he approached her. But honestly? He didn't care. He would make her look.
Sam moved to the side of the chair she was sitting in, leaned over, and carefully grabbed her by the face. And then? He kissed her.
