WHO: Cordelia Chase and Gabriel Gray WHAT: Coffee and donuts and awkward conversations, oh my! WHEN: {backdated} The morning Gabriel offered to get breakfast for everyone. WHERE: Hyperion kitchen RATING: TBD (can't imagine it'll be too high, though) STATUS: In Progress
Within a few minutes of having placed her request for donuts, Cordelia was on her way to the kitchen. The coffee that was in the pot looked as though it had been brewed by someone other than a Petrelli, so she made quick work of grabbing a cup and having a seat at the table as she waited for her food to arrive.
A few minutes after sitting, though, Cordelia was once again on her feet and pacing a bit. She knew she had a good ten minutes, if not more, before Gabriel would be back, and was now questioning if she really wanted to spend her time just sitting in a place where anyone could come in and try to start a conversation with her. Frowning into her half-finished cup of coffee, she silently chastised herself for still feeling the urge to hide away from the rest of the world. With a renewed determination to get back to the bubbling, happy socialite she'd been before everything had happened with Angelus, rather than flee the room and wait in the (locked) office, she pointedly hoisted herself onto the counter and faced the door.
This was it, she decided as she waited. She wasn't moving from this spot until Gabriel came back. It didn't matter who came into the kitchen in the meantime, or how tight her chest felt at the mere thought of such close quarters with veritable strangers that were meant to be her team members. No, none of that mattered. She was making a stance - albeit a small one - right here and right now. Cordelia Chase was done hiding from the rest of the world, and today she was going to prove that through whatever means necessary.
Just as soon as she had some donuts first, of course.
