Lily stared at him. She might have answered his last comment, and stated her intentions, except there was one tiny thing standing in the way of the conversation moving forward. He had just used the name 'Lupin'.
"This is for Remus?" she questioned, blink at him. "Not just a test of your extraordinary skills or a 'Look what I can do and no, so sorry, you can't have any', this is a legitimate aid to a state Remus Lupin is in that you are making? Severus, you're having me on!"
But he wasn't, she could tell – Merlin, what right did her brain have to still know he wasn't? – and after her initial shock, she realized that, a look dawning on her face that was pure surprise.
