The gate opened and then closed behind them with no more than a silent wave of Lily's wand, and then they made their way into the courtyard, thankfully not encountering anyone on the way. Lily wanted Sirius tucked away somewhere secured and safe now so he could be tended to, trusting the others or not. He deserved to have that care and security without being overwhelmed by people and she and James would give that to him.
She was content to walk in silence, supporting him as much as she was latching on to him, and guiding him to their apartment, but Sirius did speak again, and not an easy question either. Her initial reaction would have been reluctance bordering on the intense desire to not answer, but there was the fact she and James were alive to make her reevaluate that. Certainly the time issue would be less jarring than having the dead alive and around him after whatever he had gone through, but she was still reluctant to reveal the further intricacies of the madness surrounding them.
Sticking to the very simplest answers would be best for now.
"It's 2005 here," she said softly, opening the door to the apartment she and James had chosen, one with two bedrooms in expectation of Sirius' arrival. This hadn't been how Lily imagined bring him here, however.
