Normally Martha avoided going out after dark, she had heard more than enough stories about the vampires and frankly she wasn’t going to go out looking for trouble. But sometimes the hotel food just wasn’t enough and she was starting to crave takeaway, the doctor in her made her hesitant but it wasn’t as if she went out every single day and lived on it. Besides getting something medically wrong with her in the city she was in was the least of her worries.
And that is why Martha was taking a short cut through the park in search of a good food source, she was already on edge so when she heard a mumble of voices to her right she stopped walking. Somewhere in the back of her mind she was laughing, she had been able to face down The Master without so much a flinch and here she was freezing at the sound of voices, whatever happened to the woman who saved the earth once?
With that thought in mind she took a deep breath headed toward that direction until she saw two figures, it was only when one of them shouted something and..was that a gun? did she stop walking. What she witnessed next stunned her so much so she was rooted to the spot with wide eyes. Martha had seen a lot of things, Daleks, human like cats and pigs but this..was in a league of it's own. Instinctively she had jumped back at the sight of fire and watched from the shadows, any normal person would have run away but she was intrigued, scared, but definitely intrigued.
Once the thing, whatever it was had disappeared a few moments later Martha stepped out of the shadows hesitantly. She was reluctant to make her presence known but at the same time she wanted to check he wasn’t hurt, it was her duty in a way, what was the point in having all of the medical qualifications she had and experience and not being able to use it to help people. “Hello?” She called out finally, her voice slightly shaky from shock, “are you alright?”
