Re: Alice, Jasper & [OPEN] - 9:30 p.m.
Jasper didn't feel hungry at all, possibly because he had all but gorged himself on the animals they found last night, but there was still that painful burn in the back of his throat when he got too close to the humans. It was easier now, to remind himself that the pretty little blonde girl they passed who smelled of raspberries and sweet blood was someone's sister or girlfriend and that killing her would be unacceptable--particularly here--but that wasn't to say that it was easy. Constant temptation made it possible for Jasper to ignore his urges, but he still didn't feel fully 'safe' to humans, and so Alice's words were a comfort to him indeed. Clearly she didn't see him acting on his urges, and that was something.
Noticing the eyes of another man lingering on Alice's perfect skin for a moment too long, Jasper put his hand in the small of her back and bared his teeth in a menacing smile. It wasn't a violent action, but it did make a point. No one here was going to touch, or even think about touching, his wife, or Jasper would happily drag them outside of the Lux and drain the man dry on principle alone. No doubt the man would be a disappointment, too full of smugness and stupidity to taste anything but bitter, even if most human blood tasted the same to Jasper.
Calm down, Jasper told himself, watching as the man frowned and turned back to his date. Or you'll get Alice in trouble.
That was enough to do it, imagining that they wouldn't take too kindly to the companion of a man who committed murder in a place that was strictly nonviolent. He moved his hand from the small of Alice's back to twine around her waist, and congratulated himself on yet again resisting temptation. "Some party." He muttered, knowing that Alice would have seen his temptation and trying to lighten the mood.
