"Twenty-five years," Anakin said, his voice soft. "I know I don't look the age. There is a reason for that, though... it may still be difficult to hear."
"It happened at the close of the Clone Wars," he said, looking back at the poster, at the central figures, locked in epic battle. "The Jedi Council had already removed you from my training. They said it was to teach me about loss. As though I hadn't lost enough in my life already, they took you away from me as well." He couldn't help the thread of bitterness in his voice, though he tried. After Ahsoka had been taken from him and sent away with a new Master, Anakin had withdrawn just a bit more from the Council, closer to the bonds he still had: Palpatine, Obi-Wan and Padmé.
"Much was happening then. Chancellor Palpatine was kidnapped by Count Dooku. Obi-Wan and I rescued him. And Padmé..." He let out a breath. "Padmé was my wife, Ahsoka. We were married in secret on Naboo, just as the Clone War began."
