"The patient doesn't get to decide," Danica said firmly, as she picked up Ryan in her arms as if he were a doll. She looked far too petite to do it, but he was weightless in her grasp. With one high-heeled foot, she kicked the remnants of the door aside and took him to the stairs.
"Aloe vera," she muttered, knowing the doctor could here her in her wake. Gods, she hated having to do her own errands. That's what Ryan had been for, up until now. "I'll get it," she added, gracelessly, as they reached the car. She'd have to go to some late night pharmacy. It was always such a temptation to mess with everyone there, so usually she avoided them. But if it got Ryan back to her employ, then she'd have to. She had too few lackeys to not take care of one.
Gingerly, she put him in the back set of her car, a dusty dark blue Mustang, which needed a good cleaning. Well, it got her from point a to point b, and nice and fast too. "Get in, doc," she bit off as she left Ryan to secure himself and she slid into the driver's side.
