Elaine smiled knowingly at Kara’s answer. “It could be arranged.” The planet had a name by the natives; a name without a clear translation for their language wasn’t like the language of man. But she slipped the idea in their minds, the core of the translation, the label imprinted in her will. She turned to Kara. “It’s done.”
She waited for a moment, a few beats until the change settled in, and the swing of balance of their lives in the tips of her fingers. “Well, are you ready?” she asked softly. “Here the sun changes from white to yellow to red according to the day time, so you won’t be Supergirl to them.” She extended her palm, open, there was nothing there but particles of air and yet invisible there was an offer of power.
“Once you touch my hand, you would become their guardian, just like I was in Lucifer’s Creation. But mm, limited to this one world alone. You can watch them over elsewhere they are and guard their lives,” she hesitated to continue because the trail of thought was gloomy. The war she was heading made her consider it. “As godmother, if something happens to me… well, I trust you with this world.”
