Elaine Belloc remained very still for a while. She was feeling the lives and the deaths, the past and the future, written on her name within their bodies, blood and spirits. The comet shifted its shape and two stone seats were erected - one for Kara and another for Elaine. The sun above them was white. It was morning in that world and routine began for those who lived under the clouds and over the rich soil.
Her quick check-up ended and her attention returned to her friend. She smiled and nodded. “Yes, I had planned it would take me seven days, but… not everything went as planned.” She laughed at that. “The Yahweh Dance is complicated to perform when you don’t see what you are doing.” At least Lucifer had kept his unhelpful sneering to himself that time.
