Tonks had no idea what the hell she'd been thinking as she'd sat in front of the computer typing away. She hated computers, because the complete impersonality of the things made one do something like this. Crazy half assed decisions made when you couldn't actually look face to face at the person you were speaking to.
She was sure that if she'd heard the words 'mudblood' and 'halfbreed' actually cross Bella's lips, she wouldn't have invited the girl to stay with them. But she hadn't and now here they were, Dora setting up the guest bedroom for her future murderous aunt. She was actually putting out clean linens for the girl. What had the world come to?
Once the bed was made she'd sat there for quite some time, just sitting there and wondering what she'd done and what Remus was going to say when he found out. Tonks bit her lip and closed her eyes as she sighed. She had absolutely no idea how any of her friends were going to take this, but she knew she probably wasn't going to be popular.
She heard the knock on the door from the room and it took her a moment to collect herself and stand up so that she could walk over to open the door. She was a thin pregnant --all the weight gain had gone straight towards the front of her belly rather than the sides-- but walking was still more of a waddle at this point. She knew it was almost time.
Tonks pulled open the door. Calm and composed. That was the way to go.
She found herself looking down at what essentially looked like a teenaged version of her own mum. "Hullo, Bellatrix."
