Cathy was hardly an expert on the subject of morning sickness, considering that she was not a doctor nor had she ever experienced pregnancy herself. However, an experience with her best friend in high school had taught her a lesson or two, and the memory had stuck with her over the years. She had taken care of Carol Ann when she was eighteen years old and the girl's mother had needed some time before she could be there for her daughter, despite the fact that she and the child's father married shortly thereafter, as she had hoped. Well, demanded, but ultimately the decision was made by the teenagers themselves.
Carol Ann had had it particularly badly, Cathy remembered, but there were some things that did help.
So, the bag that accompanied her on her visit to the Hyperion Hotel contained the basic items indicative of an upset stomach that needed tending, such as crackers and ginger ale, but with the addition of a variety of non-caffeinated teas. Ginger and peppermint had been a success in the past and had the best reputations for aiding nausea, according to some quick Googling, so she was sure to stock up on those.
Finally, Cathy stepped into the lobby, pausing as she took in her unfamiliar surroundings, uncertain as where to go next.
