What he meant to say was that he wanted her to stay out of it. Not because he was afraid of losing his temper (which was the reason he wanted Kira to stay out of it) but because he couldn't accept that kind of risk. As if he had no control in the matter at all, he moved closer, his lips going to hers as if drawn there on their own. He kissed her.
