At the other end of the corridor, Sarah grinned at the newest arrival – those he crept up on didn't see the need to look up, but from her vantage point she'd spotted him as he'd neared the end of the corridor – and moved closer, still working barrier to barrier for when the boys decided to aim for her as well.
"NO FAIR!" Monty shrieked, yanking half the sheet over his head, thereby dismantling half the barricade as he aimed wildly over his head for Peter, spraying first one side of his uncle and the other without getting an actual hit in.
Simon, however, amid similar cries of unfairness and treachery, was at least aiming more effectively as he detached one of the pieces of cardboard from the wall to use as a shield.
"You're gonna get it, Uncle Peter," he vowed, peering out around the edge of the cardboard to keep his aim more certain.
Having made her progress, Sarah popped over the top of the closest barrier, another chair, and let loose with the two in her hands.
"Famous last words!" she called, then aimed for Simon's cardboard shield with one can and the direction of Toby with the other.
