Padmé had been keeping an eye out for the arrival of Peter and Annie since receiving Peter's reply to her email. She had already told Anakin they would be receiving another child, via Peter, and had also informed Kathy that she was going to have a visitor. She hadn't said anything more than that to the girl, not wanting to get her hopes up in case Annie wasn't able to come for whatever reason.
When Peter arrived just outside the front doors, Padmé instantly move toward them to allow him entrance. She knew, of course, if he wanted inside he'd have no problem doing so on his own, but she wanted him to feel welcomed and not wait at the doorstep.
Shmi was resting against her shoulder, one arm securely holding the baby in place and freeing up her other to open the door. There was a bright smile on her face as she met Peter's gaze, stepping aside to give him and the girl beside him room to get through the doorway. "Peter," she greeted him, "please, come in."
Her attention then went to Annie. She'd been unable, thus far, to dredge up any memory of the girl during her own brief stay at the Hyperion and wondered if perhaps she'd arrived after that point in time. It didn't matter either way, she supposed. Meeting her now was as good of a time as any.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Annie. I'm Padmé," she murmured.
Annie, for her part, had immediately dropped her gaze to Bunny - nestled ever faithfully in the crook of her elbow - and for a moment it seemed as if she wouldn't say a word. Then she slowly peered upward at Padmé, brown eyes not quite meeting the woman's gaze as she replied, "H-Hello, 'admé."
Once again her gaze went back to Bunny, the urge to cover her face strong but something she was ignoring. Peter was there, after all. Kathy was there, too. So she would be fine. Perhaps not as at ease as she was at the Hyperion, but she could adapt.
Or at least get used to this new place, with these new people. If only for Kathy's sake.
