Worthy? Of her? She had never been giving such a compliment before in her life. The men around her had always treated her as if she were a doll to be displayed and used as they wish, but never had they thought she was a trophy to be earned. Her cheeks flushed from what he said, her heart was swollen from all he had said.
She felt entirely silly for thinking the petty things she had been. How wrong she had been. "Your honesty and trustworthyness is one thing I could never possibly doubt."
Selene smiled at his hand holding hers. Her eyes darted towards him for a brief moment before she made a bold statement of how she truly felt known. "How wrong you are." She corrected in a serious but reverant tone. "Though you may not have claimed my body as yours the part of me that I can not live without has beat your name for sometime now. I have waited centuries to find a connection, friendship and affection like I feel with you, I can wait until you are ready. No matter when that might be."
Pulling the car off the freeway she headed towards the small cafe she recalled from her trip shopping for furniture. "Besides, I have never been courted before." Selene laughed at herself for what she had said. Lifting his hand to her lips she turned it slightly and kissed the inside of his wrist. "Forgive me, sometimes my speech gives away my age."
