Brows drawing together at that, Starscream was quiet for several moments, crimson eyes unreadable as they flickered over the street and then to Skyfire's face. But then he offered a faint, somewhat uncertain smile, shrugging. "I've never considered it before," he admitted, turning his face upward again and squinting at the sun. "I haven't spent much time on this planet, really, and my only contact with humans has been in the form of Alexis, Rad, and Carlos. .. And occasionally Billy and Fred." Though they hadn't been as much a constant. Still.. they'd all been oddly charming, and Starscream had found himself unwillingly warming to them all. It had hurt leaving them behind.
He hesitated, then offered a fragile little laugh, free hand dragging through his hair. "They wanted to go to Mars when I went with the Autobots, but Optimus forbade it. It was too dangerous. Still--" He glanced away, mouth a line in his face. "You'd have thought that stupid rock was the most high-grade energon available." He was aware that he wasn't making a great deal of sense to someone who hadn't actually been there, but then.. Skyfire had always been rather good at getting the gist of what he was trying to say.
He missed those breakable little annoyances. If Megatron or one of the other Decepticons hurt them.. he didn't know what he'd do. It would definitely be nasty, though.
After a quiet moment, Starscream glanced back up at Skyfire, mouth quirking. "Anyway--- they're a young species. It might be a leftover instinct from their developing years." He dropped a kiss on his bond-mate's shoulder, thumb brushing against the back of Skyfire's hand gratefully. "You might be able to find some information on the subject on the network if you're interested. I've discovered that Earth's World Wide Web comes in quite handy."
