And Starscream was one again using that tone of his that effectively said 'I'm saying one thing, but I'm clearly thinking something else entirely'. It was a tone that caused Skyfire to frown slightly, not at all enjoying the fact that his bond-mate seemed so certain they would fail at this attempt to be human. Granted it would be a challenge, but challenges were a part of the enjoyment of existence. They enabled you to learn, to expand your knowledge and apply it to later lessons in life.
"Come now, love," he at long last spoke, giving the hand entwined with his a gentle squeeze while smiling fondly at the other man. "We've solved greater mysteries than this one, before. The answers will reveal themselves. They always do."
Or, at least, always had. Skyfire knew he needed to keep in mind that such a statement might not be very factual in relation to the last billion years. It was difficult, though, remembering that time had passed in such a fashion when, to him, it effectively hadn't.
Wanting to enjoy this outing with Starscream, he mused after a brief pause, "They're certainly a species focused on their possessions, aren't they? It seems, as a whole, to be one of their primary functions: to collect as many items as possible."
There was a sideways glance at his bond-mate at that, part of Skyfire hoping that he could somehow reach the part of Starscream's Spark that used to enjoy such ponderings himself, rather than cast them aside as simple idiosyncrasies of a race he could care less learning about. While he would love the other man unconditionally regardless of how vastly different his personality had changed, it certainly made it far more difficult to engage him in conversation at times without at least a glimmer of the Starscream he'd once known.
