She hadn't planned on ever falling for Sam, more so set on helping him harness his power and being there in every way possible in ways other people couldn't. But after seeing things from his past...and talking with him...it had just happened. And she knew better, she knew that it was likely unlikely to happen, but she didn't want to fully give up until he proved her wrong. That it was only one-way, this emotional attachment of hers, and that in the end, she would have to settle with friends. Which was better than losing him completely, no matter how much she wanted to be there for him. She was willing to wait while he decided if he were ever date again or not. She was willing to withstand the nightmares and help ease him through them; hadn't she done it for Michael months before?
She sighed, both contently and disappointingly, watching him while he watched anything but. Elisabeth didn't let it sting or allowing herself to even comment, teasing or otherwise. She removed her hands from his hair, carefully, and gently tapped his nose. "Thank you," she whispered, adjusting her legs so that she could stand, hands clasping behind her back. "Count me in on that ghost hunting still, yeah?" And like that, it was as she said; friends. Teammates.
[And...if you're ever ready...and willing...I'll be here waiting.]
