Sigh, I know, I know. It always happens to us!
Once Heather had entered her apartment, she shooed a tail-wagging, far-too-excited Cricket away and proceeded to gather up a pillow and blanket from her bedroom. They were hers and not extras, but she could do without for the night. She had another pillow and sheet on her bed, which would be fine.
When she heard the knock at the door, she was just finishing setting up a 'bed' on the couch, while Cricket ran off to the door and began whining, pawing at it quite forcibly.
"Come in, it's open," she said, then gave Cricket a look and shushed her. "Go lay down, Cricket, and don't bother Sam." She knew that wasn't going to happen, since the dog was practically in love with him. It was amusing any other time, but not now when he needed to rest.
