Booth nodded in affirmation to King and then to Abby before he gently tugged his partner from the room under the pretense of checking windows while he explained to her what was going on. He remained quiet until Brennan whispered to him and glanced over his shoulder before releasing her arm.
"Good thing this comes after you've seen vampires in action," Booth said but there was no humor to his words, only weariness. "Abby and King come from a different place too. There's still had vampires, different from the ones we saw the other night. But they pissed off this big kahuna named Drake. They thought they defeated him once after he scored some big hits on them."
He paused by a window and gave it a halfhearted tug, but it was locked shut solidily. "He's here too and he really doesn't win points for charm." Booth turned back to Bones. "From the sounds of it, this guy is big and scary, enough to rattle two pro hunters. I talked to him over the boards once myself and..." He shook his head. "It looks like he left a present down in the basement."
